Back in 2015, I talked about producing a graphic novel adaptation of the 2011 Winnie the Pooh movie for Joe Books. It was initially scheduled for June release and I was excited to have something different to show off.After the on sale date came and went, I never heard what had happened but eventually saw Amazon listing it for a January 2016 release. Since I continued to hear silence from Joe’s editorial staff, I had no idea what was happening.So, imagine my surprise as I perused the latest solicitations to learn that not only was the 352-page book coming out in June, but it was going to be available as a hardcover and a softcover. Amazon, it seems, is only offering the more affordable edition.Joe’s website says:

Not exactly exclusive from them since it is listed, at least, at Westfield Comics.One of my challenges in producing this was after it was turned in, it was decided I needed to rewrite the pages that featured the film’s songs in case there were rights issues. That proved an interesting challenge and think the finished product works.Working on the Cinestories was certainly fun and I had hoped to do more in the line but apparently, those plans are on hold.If you have a young one who looks Pooh Bear and is learning how to read, you might want to consider this.
